Te Reo Language Week

We have been very creative in Room 20 over the last two weeks.
To celebrate Maori Language week we have been sharing the legend of Rona and the Moon
We all retold the legend of Rona on Seesaw.
Writing
We also wrote our own story, starting from the moment
Marama got angry at us for shouting at him.
What happened next...
Find our stories on Seesaw.
Created artworks
Can you find Rona, the taha and the Ngaio tree?
Explored with paint, colour and tone.
Waiata
Made new rakau sticks,
and created our own rakau actions to our favourite waiata...
of course, Rona and the Moon.

Operetta - Dinosaurs And All That Rubbish

Gumboot Dancing
Dinosaurs And All That Rubbish
What a wonderful Operetta week we have had.
We hope you all enjoyed our show!
Our dance idea came from South Africa. Gumboot dancing
The Gumboot dance began with the African gold miners in South Africa.
Many of them spoke different languages and they could not communicate underground.
So they used rhythm and patterns to make a morse code and send messages to each other.

Inquiry with Takahe Hub

To begin of our Takahe Hub Inquiry we investigated
how humans interact with Earth's four spheres.
Crazy Eights -
In groups, we chose a sphere and came up with eight crazy ideas of how to make a difference.
What we could do to help our environment?
Next...
In our groups, we chose our best idea and designed a plan.
We then presented our group ideas to the hub and a vote was taken.
The crazy idea that Takaha hub voted for was...
The Underwater Crusher
Next challenge...
to design our own 'Underwater Crusher'
Create and share
