This week our learning included writing about our feelings and strategies we can use when having those BIG feelings and using our senses in creative writing. Thinking like Scientists by using evidence to justify our opinions. We also had action and senses scavenger hunts, measured real objects, made shape creations, and read every day.

My Special Spot!

  • Tell me about your Special Spot, where do you like to be most? Is it your bedroom, up a tree in your garden, or cooking in the kitchen? My Special Spot is sitting on my couch with a book in the sun.

This week some of our learning included listening about stories and memories of our whanau. Thinking like Scientists and creating home experiments with left over vegetables. We also had science and backyard scavenger hunts, number of the week, place value robots and read every day.

This week some of our activities included reading fluency with punctuation, reading reflections, number of the week, measuring lengths of a real-world object, operation gratitude (letters to essential workers), planning and writing about a flying machine, design a boat to float, Kia Kaha, We’re all in this together artwork, 5 things i like about myself, and learning why leaves change colour in Autumn.

Funky Friday With Our Furry Friends
This week some of our activities included finding out where our food comes from, reading with fluency and expression, number of the week, measuring using centimetres, sharing a favourite family memory, creating a curious moment, writing about the adventures of our furry friends, learning about Anzac, magical soap bubbles, experimenting with rubber eggs, and researching whaanau names using the online cenotaph.

Funky Friday Silly Hat Challenge
This week some of our activities included creating Shape Monsters with adjectives (describing words), learnt about different patterns, made a cardboard horse that walks, made a digital copy of our pepeha, learnt about personifications, and created our independent daily reading routines.
