Electric Future
First, we explored what energy is and where it comes from. We looked at renewable and non-renewable resources.
We learnt that renewable energy comes from sources that can be replaced. Electricity is our most widely used form of energy.
Then we tested some solar cars in different places:inside, outside, in bright light and in the shade. We found the solar car only moved in bright light and slowed/stopped when in shade/dark places!
Next through some hands on trial and error we learnt how to make an electrical circuit using a battery, wires, and LEDs.

Some of the class then went on to power a buzzer using copper and zinc nails.
We found it only worked when there was salt in the water and the metals were different.
Wow, what a great idea it must have been such an enjoyable thing to do. Plus here is a nice joke... whats the difference between electricity and lightning? you don't need to pay for lightning. Makayla & Emiliana
