On Monday our whole school went on a trip to Hukanui Marae in Gordonton. We were very excited and learned all about the Powhiri process and waiata in preparation. We used role-play to understand powhiri and the expectations of how to behave on the marae. We learnt a lot of history from the kaumatua, sketched, sung, and admired the beautiful carvings, kowhaiwhai and tukutuku patterns. Thank you to the parents that came and supported us - we really appreciate you.
Welcome to our Whānau 19 Blog with Whaea Arna. We are a combined class of Year 3 & 4 and hope you enjoy following us on our journey of learning.
