Icecream Making with School kit

We were lucky to be chosen to work with School Kit again this term.

Our class had a science task to investigate.
How to create a breakfast ice cream.
First, we explored how heat transfers.

Next, we read the instructions on how to make ice cream.
We problem solved in our groups and decided on what ingredients we would use to create our very own breakfast ice cream.
We measured all of the ingredients.
Put in the ice and...
we shook and shook...
and kept on shaking the bag.
Finally, the best part. We tasted all the different flavours we created.

Grandparents Day

Today we celebrated our learning with our grandparents and whanau.
It was wonderful to teach them how we use Twitter and Chapter Chat.
This term we are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Lots of our grandparents remembered the story and helped us with our answers!

We have very kind and generous grandparents that spoilt us all at morning tea time.
What a treat!

Operetta - Dinosaurs And All That Rubbish

Gumboot Dancing
Dinosaurs And All That Rubbish
What a wonderful Operetta week we have had.
We hope you all enjoyed our show!
Our dance idea came from South Africa. Gumboot dancing
The Gumboot dance began with the African gold miners in South Africa.
Many of them spoke different languages and they could not communicate underground.
So they used rhythm and patterns to make a morse code and send messages to each other.
